R.I.P. DJ Roc Raida

Pois é, morreu neste sabado (19) um dos maiores nomes do DJing, Roc morreu com 37 anos no hospital depois de uma das cirurgias que fez devido a uma lesão muito grave que teve durante um treino de artes marciais penso que seja Muai Thai.

Roc Raida fazia parte do grupo X-Ecutioners e era actualmente DJ de Busta Rhymes.

Foi e ainda é umas das referências no campionato DMC tanto como world champion em 95, tanto como juiz.

Lançou 6 albuns a solo, 6 pelos X-Ecutioners e participou em inumeros albuns como convidado.

“The LP” era para sair em 1996, mas por problemas de contrato com a Geffen Records o disco nunca foi lançado. 14 anos depois o produtor lança o mambo que criava grandes expectativas na época, com Large Pro em alta, a fazer beats para nomes como Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, Mobb Deep entre outros.

O disco já conta com os clássicos singles “The Mad Scientist”, “I Juswanna Chill” e “That Bullshit”. Além das doze faixas originais do álbum, ainda tem faixas não lançadas e versões demo. Se tivesse saído em 96, hoje era um clássico!
